Route Details: On this hike, we trek from the town of Fredonia to the town of Venecia, while climbing the challenging Cerro Bravo along the way. We use dirt roads to get in and out of the towns- much of the trail is a narrow hiking trail through Andean forest, with some open parts that give us views of the mountain itself and the landscape below. If the clouds cooperate, the top of the mountain has spectacular views of green Antioquian landscape.

Estimated Time Walking: approx. 6 hours, but varies with pace of group
Transportation to and from start of the hike: Public bus, 1 hr 45 minutes, depending on traffic

Price: 75,000 COP or $25 USD / person (2 person minimum)* – includes hike leader, extreme sport insurance, public transportation, first aid care, sales tax, and information about the area and city.

Difficulty: 4 out of 5: (difficult) The hiking route is long and has very steep climbs, both up and back down, in which hikers will need to use their whole bodies to complete the trail. All participants should have a very good level of physical condition and be without health problems, underlying cardiovascular problems, or severe environmental allergies.

Recommendations / Warnings: Hikers are asked to bring plenty of water (2 L), snacks and lunch for energy, sun protection, and secure shoes with good grip that you don’t mind walking through water in.
Please be aware that all hikers will be participating at their own risk and may be asked to sign a waiver!
